The basic function of the Skiatook Police Department Communications Center
is to receive, screen and prioritize calls for service and subsequently dispatch the appropriate response in an efficient
and coordinated manner. The Communications Center dispatches for Police, Fire, Ambulance, Animal Control and Public
Utilities.
The Communications Center is staffed twenty-four
(24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. There is always a Disptacher on duty. They can be assigned to work any
shift with any combination of days off. Dispatchers must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s
License and have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. Dispatchers are required to become OLETS (Oklahoma
Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems) certified. Dispatchers also served as jailers and must attend
the Oklahoma Minimum Jail Standards Training Course.
