The School Resource Officer (SRO) program represents the
essence of Community Policing. The program requires that an officer become familiar with the students, the faculty,
and the staff of each school. The SRO becomes an integral part of the school culture, and is invaluable in problem solving
in the community. The Skiatook Police Department also benefits from the arrangement as the officer assigned to the school
becomes a resource for patrol officers and investigators for information on juvenile issues and criminal intelligence.
Sergeant Rocky Davis joined the Skiatook Police Department in 1994 and is currently assigned as
a School Resource Officer. Sergeant Davis is a certified C.L.E.E.T. Instructor and is also a D.A.R.E. instructor. Before
coming to Skiatook, Sergeant Davis was with the Cleveland Police Department and before that the Pawhuska Police Department.
Officer Steven Haley joined the Skiatook Police Department in 1996 and is
currently assigned as a School Resource Officer. Officer Haley has an Associate Degree in Police Science from Rogers
State University and is an Advanced certified Law Enforcement Officer through C.L.E.E.T. In 1998, Officer Haley was
awarded the Department's Life Saving Award and in 2000, 2001 and 2002 was recognized as one of the top police officers
in the State of Oklahoma for DUI enforcement.
