Skiatook's Police Chief is John Lawrence. Chief Lawrence came to
Skiatook in 2007 with 33 years of Law Enforcement Experience. Before coming to Skiatook, he was the Assistant Chief
of Police at Bixby, the Deputy Director of Public Safety (Police Captain) at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville,
AR, and a Lieutenant (Retired) at the Little Rock, Arkansas, Police Department. Chief Lawrence has a BA Degree from
Ouachita Baptist University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Chief Lawrence has received his "Advanced"
certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in Oklahoma and is a C.L.E.E.T. certified Instructor.
With over 24 years of experience, Skiatook's second in Command is Captain
James Dean. Capt. Dean started his career with the Hominy Police Department and then went to Pawhuska P.D. before joining
the Skiatook Police Department in 1997. Capt. Dean received recognition from Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) for
three years in a row for his efforts in combating drunk driving.
